AS CHILDREN
I love this child
Who runs not wild
Whose love is mild
This child once playing
This child not starying
This child now praying
The infectious smile
Walking every mile
Helping all the while
As this child stands
With now outstretched hands
Hearing God's commands
Many others are moved
Their fears removed
Their lives improved
Bless these young ones
Daughters and sons
For they have shown us
The love of Jesus
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

On the July 2nd Living In God's Rhyme podcast my brother, Dave, and I talked about children. A couple of poems I read were about Jesus telling the disciples to let the little children come to Him and how we must be as little children in coming to Jesus. The other poems were written about my children.
I wasn't sure where this poem was going. I started out thinking about the rhymes. It took longer to write than I thought it would, but that was because God had a plan. The answers to prayers are amazing in His grace.
