THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
The sun is setting,
But I'm not letting
That become the end
Of another day.
No, I won't my friend.
It is time to pray
To the risen One,
God's one Shining Son,
The light of this earth
Who gave us our worth.
As He is risen forever
We will live in darkness never.

Reflection:
A number of weeks ago I started reading Acts and have continued though Paul's letters. Tonight I finished 2 Corinthians. One thing that caught my attention was the number of times Paul mentions false teachers/preachers., those who pervert God's word to suit their own earthly desires. It was prevelant in those times and continues on today. I pray that as Christians we are grounded in our faith and understandig of God's word that when we think we have heard a false teaching a bell goes off in our head and we pray about it and look further into it. Before getting off the bed, where I write some of my poems on the notes app on my cell phone, I happened to look out the bedroom window and noticed the setting sun, which led me to this poem. Of course we know we Jesus is the light that overcomes the darkness of the world in our lives.
May God bless your life with His rhymes.
