70, 7-10, SHOW NOTES & COPYRIGHTS, Revised 8/13/22 (Scheduled August 19, 2022)
Today we are reading and discussing my evenings before going to bed. I like to sit on the edge of the bed before I actually get into bed and write a short poem on the Notes app on my cell phone. Today we will be reading some of those poems.
PSALM 51:10
10 Create in me a pure heart, oh God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
Or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
And grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
I have been reading the Psalms, Revelation and rereading Ephesians 10, The Armor of God. I have found peace and hope and also understanding: Peace and hope in knowing God is in control, and the understanding of the tomorrows we will face. With God we will be prepared for tomorrow. With the Armor of God we will find peace in the hope we have through Jesus.
Our God has prepared us
For all to come through Jesus,
By His grace we are with His Son
Through whom the battle has been won.
We will face fears,
We will face tears,
Still we will not die
From another’s lie.
Living for this world, no, never.
Living for Jesus,
Our salvation will last forever.
He has saved us.
Hallelujah, praise the Father.
Hallelujah, praise the Son,
Hallelujah, praise the Holy Spirit.
Praise God for His never ending blessings.
Amen

AN ANSWER TO PRAYER
I thought I could stop
The up and down hop
Going on in my mind.
Could peace I again find?
Speak up
Shut up
What is right
Not what might
So I knelt and began to pray.
The answer, “Do not betray
Your fellow believers,
Expose the deceivers.”
There are moments
I hear comments
Saying words I’ve written
Should never be hidden.
As my mind started to wander,
I knew it was time to pray.
Tilting my head I looked yonder
And asked God, “what do I say?”
I see the world in a haze,
With so many in a daze,
Not knowing where the truth lays
Too many yeas, too few nays.
I said, “Lord, what can be done?”
He answered, “it is simple my son.
Read the book of prophecy.
Not books of philosophy.”
“Today you pray
To know the way.
You already know it,
Now you must share it.”
So I will continue to write
Of how yesterday and today
Have and still explain tomorrow,
As the “god of this world” brings sorrow. (2 Cor. 4:4)
Put on the full armor of God, so you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For your struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

SPOKEN WORDS
There are days
We live in haze
Through our ways
Our wayward daze
So many have spoken
Many more are broken
Their lives but a token
Until they are awoken
Who are the fools
Those making rules
Or those who follow
Words that are hollow
There is one word
When it is heard
Hearts become stirred
Truth is not blurred
It is the Word of the Creator
Not the sounds of a berater
It comes without shaded hue
No, the word of God is true
It is our choice
As we have heard
To use our voice
And I pray it is
To speak God’s Word
Today I pray for this
All words have meaning. Some, over time and context, have changed, others still are. Meanings change to change meaning to change reactions that lead to actions that change the ways we are led astray, so we don’t get in the way, but obey as we are led astray.
There is One whose word is the same today as it was yesterday, and will still be the same all of our tomorrows. It is the Word of God. The Word of truth, the Word of creation and the Word of hope.

THE HOPE OF HIS CARE
The thoughts in my head
While lying in bed,
The bodily pains
As the mind strains
To come to grips
With recurring trips
To . . .
No, I will not let this be.
Around me all I can see
Is God’s constant love
Reigning down from above.
By the blood of Jesus
I have been sealed.
By the one who saves us
I have been healed.
There may be times
I will not hear the rhymes.
But God will be there.
I live in the hope of His care.

THE RISEN LIGHT
One cannot see
The setting sun
Beyond the rain filled clouds,
Or the rising sun
Hidden by the foggy sea.
But know
The Son is risen,
Walk in His light,
Not the darkness
Of the night.
As darkness prevails.
He is the Light of the world.

BEFORE I SLEEP
Dear Father in Heaven
As I end my day
I kneel and pray
Thankful for You
And all You do
Leading the way
So I do not stray
For feeling Your care
In the love You share
For the hope I received
That moment I believed
In Your saving grace
In my worldly race
I pray now for others
My sisters and brothers
That they know Jesus
Your Son who saves us
I will sleep tonight
And tomorrow
Without sorrow
Awaken in Your light
Amen

MY DAY
Time for my pill
So I don’t fall ill
What was that sound
Oops I fell on the ground
No need to worry
I’m in no hurry
I’ll rest my head
When I crawl into bed
Just another day
As I lost my way
Lost it where
I don’t care
Looking up I see a smile
It’s been there all the while
That’s why every day
I will live to pray
It is Jesus
Who sees us
Let Him lead the way
He will lighten your weigh

INSPIRATION FROM WHERE?
Watching tv
Looking at the screen
All I see
Is the starkness
Of our darkness
Never before seen
Could this be a reflection
Of tomorrow’s direction
Not to my recollection
Finding the connection
Requires an infection
One that is pure
Without a cure
So one will endure
Pain, that’s for sure
But they don’t know
What evil does sow
Watching the magic show
Ignorance does grow
Then there are the few
The truth they knew
They were the meek
The world did not seek
They were not the weak
They were the strong
Avoiding wrong
Forever long
And now belong
To the truth of His saving love
Who reigns from Heaven above
By man rejected
By God accepted

THE WALK
Waiting again
How long has it been
There is no word rhyme
No, not this time
Looking around
One may be found
In the mingling crowd
Talking oh so loud
So I sit and pray
For the words to say
That may brighten their day
As they move on their way
I will say hello
But not goodbye
As their way they go
The find the why

IN THOSE TIMES
In the times of trouble,
Those moments of struggle,
When you need to snuggle,
As you feel life’s harms
Then raise up your arms
And feel God’s embrace
As the world you face.
In the world’s rejection
Live in His protection.
You are safe in the love
Sent from Heaven above.
And as you rest
You will be blessed.
God’s love is forever plentiful,
So we may live forever thankful.

SING HIS SONG
When comes the dawn
We will hear the song
That’s sung forever long
Through the ages, never gone
Sung as one voice
Gathered together
Each a former debtor
In faith having made their choice
As God they praise
For His holy ways
And the hope He does bring
In harmony they do sing
With our hands raised
And God’s name now praised
Know the One who saved us
God’s Son, the risen Jesus

AS WE CLOSE IN PRAYER, MAY WE CONTINUE IN PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father we come to you in prayer as we end today’s podcast. Dave and I thank You for Your leading us through the day and into tomorrow. We pray that today, Your presence has touched those who are listening and watching.
We pray for our listeners and viewers; for their needs, the healing of those in need of healing and the salvation of those who have not yet by faith accepted the gift of Your grace.
We pray, Lord, for this world in which we live. Father, as Christians lead us to proclaiming the gospel where ever we are. May we do so in a loving way. Lead us to the truth of the days we are living in. We pray for the nation of Ukraine and its people; its leaders, and those who are fighting the invading army of their enemy. May their faith and determination be an example to the entire world.
Dear Lord, prepare us and our listeners and viewers for the coming week. We pray that it is You we live for and You who leads us. As we walk with you this week, may it be Your hand clasped around our hand so we may feel the grasp of Your love.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer.
Amen
